Sunlight lays itself carefully, piece by piece, over the edge of the roof.

From here only a fine white line with but dots that are the roof’s ridges interrupting its span.

A tiny bird far away flies over and around the rooftop, its thin frame barely visible in the clean blue sky.

A single antenna, a huge dragonfly perched on the roof, motionless.

The dust on the glass makes the building look grey and nondescript. The blocks of its silhouette tower over the window’s view. Spring is in the air.

This should be another Murphy’s Law

Every goddamn time I decide against bringing a camera with me, something beautiful happens. Right now there is a full creamy moon above the pink sky and cotton candy clouds hovering over Lake Michigan, and I can’t even zoom in enough with my phone camera. WHY ME.

You know what I just absolutely fucking love?

I adore the fuck out of the sun when it keeps hiding behind clouds and coming out from behind them, when you sit in a spacious room and you can watch it fill with light in one instant and become gloomy in the next, as sunlight infiltrates through the windows and escapes by the same route.

I could watch it all day, this game of someone shutting the blinds and opening them, shutting and opening, for ever.

I was innocently downloading music at the library when suddenly a fire alarm went off. Frankly, the first thought on my mind was: “Do they know I’m pirating?!”
