Heartburn
I was wondering all night as I rolled around in bed, unable to sleep with my head to the left or to the right, naked or under a blanket, after a cup of water, after washing my face, after trying the pillow or trying without it — why in the world do I have this terrible heartburn?
I went to a nice quaint birthday party where they played jazz and served dinner, all nice people — so...

Okay, so, hypothetically, God exists.
(and don’t get me wrong, I’m not one to side with feminism, ever, but now I finally gave this a quick thought.)
Why would God, then, make human females have such inefficient bodies, what with the bloodshed of an unused egg every month and all? Why don’t guys lose all their unused sperm from all the un-had sex monthly through a hole in their scrotum or something? Couldn’t...

And today is the day that I start to yearn for...
Always comes around… but usually in spring.

Word of the Day:
de se (Latin: of oneself)
A phrase that implies that a statement uttered by a person is about that person and not referring to someone or something else. It is used in ambiguous cases when it is unclear to whom or what a pronoun is referring: “Peter thinks he is pale” could either mean that Peter thinks himself pale, or that he is someone else. In the first instance, the statement...

In a book on nasology, I read the suggestion that people with a celestial (that is, upturned) nose tend to be drawn to the arts and spirituality.
I’m pretty sure that it was this book too that brought up the example of black people’s attraction to the soul and everything to which it pertains (by which they meant the dances, the method of singing, etc.). Listening to Miles Davis, how...

Be wary of inspiration while doing nails
I was doing my manicure and listening to Miles Davis’s “Bitches Brew” and imagined myself as an owner of a manicure/pedicure salon, designed in black and red, with but lamps used by manicure professionals to see the clients’ nails, with jazz playing on low in the background. Oh, how classy would that be.

Dear Followers:
There are 73 of you, HOW?! How are 67 or so of you STILL following me?… And, most of all, WHY?
No, seriously, enlighten me. I don’t quite understand why you are following me, if my material is never liked or reblogged by someone other than people I know outside of tumblr. So, care to tell me?

I must admit, an uncanny feeling crept up on me — that perhaps I am merely chasing my past….. Going blond again, rediscovering old musical interests, even wearing old socks..! Attempting to reconnect with someone I knew what feels like years ago…
Three and a half years ago. Really, no big deal. But I feel like maybe, just maybe.. you and I missed something big here. Telling our...
